About

I’m an independent filmmaker, illustrator, storyboard & make-up artist currently working in both Toronto, Ontario and Southern Alberta.

I’ve been a filmmaker as well, in a non-professional frame, for the past 15 years, but worked professionally for the past 8 years. I completed my first independent feature, “Living Proof”, in 2007, and my most recent short, “Resolve”, was produced in conjunction with the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers.

I retained the Gushel Writers Cottage in Blairmore, Alberta for 2 months in the summer of 2006 and completed work on several feature-length screenplays, returning to the Cottage in the summer of 2007 to complete the rough edit of “Living Proof”.  Most recently I completed and screened my first documentary in partnership with a Southern Alberta Arts Collective, and am working on the edit for my second, as well as several new short productions.

The past year I’ve been working as a make-up and effects artist in the film industry in Toronto.   I’ve been a key makeup artist on two independent features, as well as designing the mechanical effects work for the latest feature. I’ve also done prosthetics, effects, key and assistant makeup work on over 17 short films, music videos and commercials since graduating in September, 2010.

As a storyboard artist I’ve worked on commercials for Toshiba, Home Depot, Pledge, Gatorade, Rogers, Manulife, Koolaid, Glad and Boston Pizza, as well as several independent short films and music videos.  As a freelance illustrator I’ve completed poster art for theatrical productions such as The Great Farini Project and the teaser poster for Complections School of Make-up Artistry, as well as various company logo designs, makeup design templates and concept illustration for pending productions.

  1. It was a pleasure working with Blake as storyboard artist. He is incredibly fast and extremely talented. He’s now my first call on all my commercial productions.
